Joseph Pilates' chosen successor, Romana Kryzanowska, trained Jan Phillips, the owner of Henry Street Pilates. Jan was certified after 700 hours training and has been practicing and teaching Pilates for over a decade. She has taught students and trained teachers all over the world.
In Paris, she helped train the country’s first batch of Kryzanowska-certified teachers, and in South Carolina she implemented her own teacher-training program. Since moving to New York, she has managed one of the most successful Pilates studios in Manhattan.
As a teacher, she can best be described as always hard and hardly dull. She’s also a Cobble Hill resident, a PS 29 mom, a double beagle-owner, and your neighbor.
